English Enhancement Project of Academic Year 103

Mackay Junior College of Medicine, Nursing and Management

l  Project title: Continuing Enhancing College Students’ English Ability

l  Summary:

This project, a continuum of the project last year, intends to encourage the low-achieving English learners to improve their English with remedial courses. The project will collect the grades of the English final exams of sophomores and juniors and choose the students who need the classes based on the grades. The class will be downsized to 10 to 15 students per class so that everyone in class can be given enough attention and care. The teaching team will ensure the teaching materials, contents, and progress. The team will also evaluate the results and effects after all classes.

There are 21 classes for the project, with 350 students in total. The students were given pre-tests and post-tests to see if they made any progress in their learning. The results are listed as table 1 to 4.
